A Workshop Study by Alexis Zaccarello

Zaccarello is interested in sharing her abstraction process. It will require you to go deep into your body, create simple scores, forget scores, respond to desire, improvise, and prioritize motion over memory. She is interested in examining how individual dancers’ personal agencies and embedded histories can be utilized to abstract and blur an existing compositional structure.

See performances by Alexis Zaccarello during New Voices in Live Performance at CPR on June 12 at 7:30pm and June 13 at 4pm. Visit NViLP 2015 for tickets and more information.

We will spend time finding the space. We will spend time finding ourselves. We will spend time finding ourselves in space.

That’s an hour.

By this point we will be warm, you will learn a few moments of vocabulary.

You will abstract it.

That’s the second hour.
