Chez Bushwick’s 2Night Show July will feature the original work of three movement-based artists whose final performance is the product of collaboration with contemporary live sound. Each work engages sound as a unique collaborator in the process of creation. The evening will present the work of Miriam Atkin, Alex Rodabaugh, and a collaboration between Sarah Lifson and Lucas Crane, curated by Sidney Russell.

No Sign Will Treat You to The Interior Spectacle, by poet and performance artists Miriam Atkin, is a multimedia performance inspired by a scene from Ingmar Bergman’s Through a Glass Darkly (Såsom i en spegel). During the performance, the artists hysterically object to modes of language (like this one), which sacrifice ecstasy for efficacy. This work is in collaboration with with photographer and illustrator Anna Ekros and composer, pianist, accordionist, improviser, singer, poet, and guru, Jonathon Wood Vincent.

Do you want to make money and dance? Are you tired of the place you are and you want to make real change in your life and ultimately live your dance dreams? Are you tired of being broke all the time? Do you want to better your life? Do you complain about not having the freedom to help others? Becoming a dancer is not easy. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and focus. Before taking the plunge into dancing you have to make sure you are ready. You may be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. AmeriSHOWZ, a work by Alex Rodabaugh in collaboration with musician Andy Kuncl, will show you how you can reach your dance goals, put money back into your pocket, and build your way to financial freedom.

Finally, artist and independent curator Sidney Russell has paired together musician and co-director of Silent Barn, Lucas Crane with dance artist and choreographer, Sarah Lifson to create a new undetermined work.  The aim of this experiment is to generate a spark in the connection between distinct art practices – dance and synthesized sound. In their partnership Sarah and Lucas will explore the acoustics of movement in a given space.
