An evening of dance and music, inspired by scientific theories and evolutionary fantasies
This performance features four pieces that are the result of the collaboration between choreographer Cori Kresge and composer Jeremy Tressler, and features performances by Lauren Ferguson, Cara Heerdt, Erin Kohout, Amber Morgan, Phina Pipia, Emily Vetsch, and Chelsea Retzloff, with special guest Korhan Basaran. Kresge's choreography, at once whimsical and profound, shows us that paradox is as beautiful as it is real. Tressler's highly composed electro-acoustic music arrives from a delicate world parallel to our own.
Approximate Run Time: 60 minutes

| Cori Kresge is a choreographer who aims to provide a space for people to imagine the wonderful and terrifying possibilities of where our civilization is headed. She is deeply excited by themes of environmental and political awareness and the way they allow dialogues between our primitive and refined selves. Having trained in music and voice and toured internationally with an ensemble through her adolescence, her creative process is fueled by the resonance of breath, tone and sound within the body. |
Cori's work has been shown in the NYC Reverb Fetival, Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, Merce Cunningham Studio, The Gershwin Hotel, Dance Forum at Union Square, Bronxville NY, University of Denspasar in Bali, Indonesia as well as at random NYC street corners, parks, museums, shopping centers, supermarkets, and subway terminals. Cori has collaborated with performance artist Liz Magic Laser and visual artist Sarah Olson on works for film and live performance, blending movement with paint, light and text.
Cori is a member of the Merce Cunningham Repertory Understudy Group since January 2010. She is a member of the Wendy Osserman Dance Company since 2004, and a founding member of danscoresby Ofelia Loret de Mola since 2003.
