OPEN STUDIOS

OPEN STUDIOS are informal, work-in-progress showings that serve as an incubator for new work, and invite the public into the artistic process. Each program is organized by a guest curator, who invites artists that inspire them to share work, expanding CPR’s network of experimental artists and creative voices. Programs often culminate in a conversation with the curator, artists, and audience, providing a necessary space for critical dialogue and feedback between artist and audience.

Public programs at CPR are supported by Dance/NYC’s New York City Dance Rehearsal Space Subsidy Program made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Harkness Foundation for Dance, Howard Gilman Foundation, Mertz Gilmore Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
